Almaty

So, we made it to Almaty. Our kids first plane ride, and it was in an old Russian tin can. :)

Traveling from Petro to Alamty is like going from the middle of nowhere Montana to New York city. More people speak English, it's uch more cosmopolitian, and its HOT. We been put up in another apartment for our short stay here.

All went well at the doctors today. Both kids are in good health. Alex does have a heart murmur. It may be a minor thing that he'll grow out of, or he may need some form of surgery later. Either way, the doctor was not worried - trust us, this kid show no signs of slowing down.

Many of you have asked about our arrival at the airport. We went back and forth on this, but we finally decided to keep our arrival a small affair - family only. Lot's of things are changing for these kids, we are both exhausted, so it might be overkill to come home to a huge group of very happy friends. We do hope to have a homecoming party sometime soon though, we'll keep you posted...

In 2 days we'll be home!!!!

I'm so glad you made it through the first leg of the trip! I think it makes perfect sense to keep your homecoming a small family event! I was wondering if that would overwhelm the boys!! Thanks for letting us know so we can welcome you home later!! We will be praying for you to make it through the longer leg of the trip smoothly and excited for your return home so you can start your lives at home as a family of 4! Praise God for these new blessings in your life!

Love you!

Praise God for your strength in Him. You are an amazing daughter and now mother. Keep your focus on God, for He will lead you to the path you should go. Glad to hear the boys are healthy and you are almost home. You will need some time to adjust the boys all over again here in the great USA. We had communication books made for each of them with the picture symbols. My teacher at Eason made then especially for each one of them. They will be very helpful while transitioning the language. Hopefully it will help decrease some frustration as well. As soon as I get your address, I will mail them so you will have them ASAP. Clothes and books and toys will be ready when you are. i will be gone for 2 weeks in July. 7/6-7/20. Prayers for a safe flight and a quiet one. I have always heard Benedryl is a great help for traveling children!! Love to all 4 of you!!!
